iPads and cooperation with sitting on a toilet

Many parents are desperately trying to work out the best way of getting their children to sit cooperatively on the toilet. One strategy that is frequently used is the iPad. I find this to be less commonly successful as it only distracts the children away from the task at hand. The other thing that often works is using an egg timer (1-3 minutes) which the children can watch. I strongly recommend using the iPad afterwards as a reward so here as a short example of what you might be able to try if the kids sit on the toilet “calmly and quietly “….
