Ipads on the toilet

So often I hear that parents think it is ok to let their children sit on the toilet with an iPad/screen to encourage them to poo.

Regardless of whether it is during toilet training, or as a result of constipation and soiling, it is something I strongly advise against. Screen time is much better used as a reward for passing poos in the toilet, or additionally having a clean, dry day as well.

I have plenty of other suggestions to help manage children's opposition, anxiety, and reluctance to sit on the toilet. Please get in touch and book an appointment with me if you have any behavioural toileting issues that can result in encopresis, functional constipation, and soiling.
